As a member of the  Munich Center for Bioactive Compound Research and Profiling, the Assay Development and Screening Platform (ADSP) was established in May 2010 as a new group within the Institute of Molecular Toxicology and Pharmacology.

In collaboration with researchers of the Helmholtz Zentrum München, custom-designed assays will be developed and/or optimized to screen for new bioactive compounds. For this purpose, the platform provides state-of-the-art equipment and screening techniques. Moreover, the platform helps with the evaluation of screening data.

Projects of the screening platform deal with the identification of small molecule inhibitors in the field of DNA repair and Innate Immune Response. These cellular processes are involved in the development of many cancers and autoimmune diseases.

In addition, the screening platform maintains chemical compound collections, which are available for all researchers of the Helmholtz Zentrum München.
