Analytical Method Development (AMD)
In addition to the employment of well-established analytical procedures within the current research projects the development of analytical methods, procedures and technologies is a main focus of the Joint Mass Spectrometry Centre.
Especially innovative photoionization methods for mass spectrometry with low fragmentation are being developed and put into application. Another focus is placed on the development of multi-dimensional analytical techniques enabling a significant increase in selectivity. By hyphenation of the low-fragment photoionization and multi-dimensional gas chromatography an extreme separation capacity can be achieved for analysis of highly complex samples.
