Helmholtz Zentrum München plans to build up an alliance for radiation research at the regional and national level.
The specialist division “Radiation Protection and Health” of the Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS) on the Neuherberg campus is integrated into the research work through long-term cooperative projects. In addition, networks with the faculties of physics and medicine of TUM, LMU and the University of the Federal Armed Forces shall combine and build on existing expertise to make Munich an internationally competitive radiation research location.
With the planned inclusion of the Leibniz Institute Dresden-Rossendorf into the Helmholtz-Association in 2011, all competence centers for radiation research in Germany will be under the auspices of the Helmholtz Association.
