Centers for Genetic Epidemiological Methods (GEM) within the National Genomic Research Network (NGFN)
The Centers for Genetic Epidemiological Methods (GEM) has been created to support clinical researchers with the necessary tools and infrastructure needed to conduct sound and reliable studies on complex genetic diseases.
GEM Munich is specialised in study design, information management and genetical statistics. The complete process of recruitment, phenotyping, genotyping, and statistical analysis is supported by a common logistic platform.
GEM Munich also provides education and training for young scientists in the field of genetic epidemiology.

Projects:
- GEM (genetic epidemiological methods): statistical concept, analysis, consulting and interpretation of genetic epidemiological studies.
- KORA-gen: infrastructure to provide phenotypes, genotypes and biosamples for collaborative genetic epidemiological research.
- Study management and recruitment: design and conduct of new epidemiological studies with genetic objective, data management, and quality control.
