Institute of Biomathematics and Biometry (IBB)
The most important areas of research for the Institute of Biomathematics and Biometry are
- Approximation Theory
- Stochastic Modelling and Statistics
- Theoretical Biology
- Harmonic Analysis and Inverse Problems
- Dynamical Systems
- Scientific Computing
The institute carries out mathematical research oriented towards issues of biology, medicine and ecology. We construct and analyze mathematical models of complex biological systems in structure and dynamics. Furthermore, we design and develop new mathematical methods for biological image and signal analysis. The activities in the institute cover the range from methodological consulting to application induced mathematical research, as well as mathematical research on its own right.
