ENU mutagenesis
ENU mutagenesis is one of the most powerful methods to induce point mutations in mice. Appropriate screening tools allow the immediate identification of clinical phenotypes. In cooperation with our Institute of Experimental Genetics we are screening the offspring of treated C57BL/6J mice for eye diseases by a broad variety of techniques for cornea and lens opacities, for alterations in eye size parameters, for retinal diseases and for disorders affecting the optic nerve. After identification of a mutant, the corresponding line is established and the underlying mutation will be characterized by a positional candidate approach
Lists of selected mutation:
- Mouse mutations affecting early eye development
- Mouse mutations affecting the axial length of the eye
- Mouse mutations causing lens opacities (cataracts)
- Mouse mutations affecting the retina or optic nerve
