Structure

Since autumn 2003, the Institute of Health Economics and Health Care Management (IGM), having developed from the former Institute of Medical Informatics and Systems Research (MEDIS) in 2001, has been directed by Prof. Dr. Reiner Leidl, who also holds the chair of business studies, health economics and health care management at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich. Deputy director of the IGM is Prof. Dr. Rolf Holle.

At present, IGM has 23 persons as scientific and 4 as technical staff under contract. Academically, the spectrum of disciplines comprises economics, social sciences, public health, mathematics, statistics und medical informatics. 

The institute comprises three research units:

IGM also forms part of the “Munich Centre for Health Sciences (MC-Health)” that has been jointly established by the GSF-Research Centre, the Munich University and the Bavarian Ministry of Science, Research and Arts.
