Research unit 3: Health Care Management
The research unit is involved in the economic analysis of prevention strategies and strategies in the provision of healthcare in chronic diseases.
This also includes strategies in the provision of healthcare in subareas, such as, inpatient care or healthcare provision to members of a sickness fund.
The focus of investigation is on costs, health outcomes - including health related quality of life - and the efficiency of healthcare provision strategies. Besides econometric methods, especially decision-analytic models are applied and further developed. Based on scientific findings, approaches to supporting decisions by management in healthcare are developed.
