Research unit 1: Translational Health Economics
The translation of medical discoveries into clinical and public health practice emanates from a complex process of assessment, appraisal, and implementation of medical innovation. The research unit "Translational health economics" analyzes key aspects of this process from a health economic perspective. Research interests include, first, generating and synthesizing evidence of costs and effects of novel interventions. Second, analyzing existing coverage decision processes and developing decision support tools for medical innovation. Third, analyzing relevant settings for the successful management of innovation in medicine and public health, accounting for the conflicting aims of effectiveness, cost containment and distributive justice.
Our current research focuses on obesity and diabetes.
