  • International Conference: "ISOTOPES 2013", Sopot, Poland, 16th-21st of June. Organisation: Dr Elsner (HMGU) and Dr. Dybala-Dyfratyka (Technical University of Lodz)

  • Dr. Martin Elsner received award 2013 of the German Water Chemistry Society

  • Another scientific article of the Institute of Groundwater Ecology has been recommended by the Faculty of 1000: 'ATP-dependent/-independent enzymatic ring reductions involved in the anaerobic catabolism of naphthalene.'

  • On 28th November Anja Wunderlich successfully defended her PhD thesis.

  • One of the recently published scientific articles of the Institute of Groundwater Ecology has been recommended for reading by the internationally recognized Faculty of 1000.

  • Dr. Christian Griebler received the first prize at this year's HMGU Science Slam together with his research group "Microbial Ecology".

  • Dr. Christine Stumpp was nominated as editor of the journal HESS (Hydrology and Earth System Sciences) in June.

  • Microbiome analysis validated. Scientists of the Institute of Groundwater Ecology tested systematically the performance of 454 Pyrotaq sequencing and reported their results in the renowned journal PLoS ONE.
