Cancer Studies

  • Allogeneic, gene-modified tumor cell vaccines in patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma (RCC-26 CD80/IL-2 and RCC-26 CD80/IL-7, clinical phase I studies)
  • Allogeneic, retrovirally transduced IL-2 and IFN-gamma secreting tumor cell vaccine in patients with hormone-refractory prostate cancer (clinical phase I/II study)
  • Pilot-study of an irradiated autologous tumor cell vaccine combined with continuous infusion of GM-CSF at the site of vaccination in NSCLC patients folloing tumor resection and induction of lymphopenia by chemotherapy and reinfusion with autologoue PBMC (Munich NSCLC Study Group)
  • Induction of tumor-specific immune responses following photodynamic therapy in patients with prostate carcinoma
  • Induction of tumor-specific immune responses following photodynamic therapy in patients with glioblastoma
  • Analyses of the influence of anti-angiogenic therapeuticals on the immune responses in patients with renal cell carcinoma
  • T-cell receptor gene transfer in T cells for adoptive therapy of renal cell carcinoma
  • Selection of peptide-specific T cells for adoptive therapy of prostate cancer
  • Selection of allorestricted peptide-specific T cells for adoptive therapy of acute leukemia

Infectious Diseases

  • Adoptive T cell  transfer in CMV infection
  • Supervision of a clinical multicenter study of an adoptive CMV-specific T cell transfer  in patients with chemoresistant CMV infection after bone marrow transplantation
  • AVIP (AIDS Vaccine Integrated Project): development of novel HIV-1 vaccine candidates to be tested in phase I preventive and therapeutic trials in Europe within a five-year programme
  • Characterization of the HIV-1 specific immune responses in cohorts of chronically HIV-1 infected subjects and cohorts of long-term non-progressors
  • Phase I study on safety and tolerability of a recombinant MVA vaccine expressing the HIV-1 nef-gene (MVA-nef) administered by three subcutaneous injections
  • Evaluation of MVA as an alternative vaccine against smallpox
  • Evaluation of the efficacy of the MVA-nef vaccine
  • Analysis of the HIV-1 adaptive immune responses in two distinct  cohorts of HIV-1 seropositive individuals naturally controlling viral replication
  • AVIP peptide comparative study
  • Fine characterization of the immune responses in an MVA -nef vaccinated subject able to stabilize viral replication after interruption of HAART
  • Immune memory against smallpox: from the B-cell side
  • Evaluation of Viral-Like Particle (VLP) expressing a mutant form of HIV-1 Nef as a novel vaccine against AIDS
  • Monitoring  hepatitis B virus (HBV) and hepatitis C virus (HCV)-specific T- and B-cell responses
  • Identification of mechanisms responsible for T-cell failure in chronically HBV-infected patients and to develop therapeutic strategies to restore T-cell function
  • Characterization of HIV-specific immune responses in different cohorts of HIV-1 infected subjects
  • Monitoring EBV-specific T-cell responses in a cohort of young competitive athletes to determine the impact of intensive physical training on antiviral immunity
  • Development of a pharmacodynamic T-cell monitoring to allow individualized immunosuppressive therapy

Training/ Workshops

In cooperation with the CIMT immunoguiding program (CIP; http://cimt.eu/) we offer different workshops with the main objective to address practical aspects of T-cell assays and their analysis (ELISPOT, flow cytometry-based assays). The workshops aim to support researchers to establish, improve or validate T-cell assays in their own laboratories.

Completed Workshop

Practical workshop dedicated to the analysis of multiparametric flow cytometry data.download workshop programm

Upcoming Workshop

Workshop on Fluorospot assays

Tentative date:                        June 2013

Workshop programs are published at the CIMT homepage http://cimt.eu/ and via the CIMT newsletter.
