What do we do?

A part of our research results is available for download from our "Virtual Human" portal.

Research in External Dosimetry

  • we develop a family of voxel models
  • we improve numerical dosimetry
  • we calculate dose distribution and derive models
  • we operate the ISS-Radiation facilities

We are responsible for the

  • Collaboration Centre for Secondary Standard Radiation Dosimetry and Radiation Protection
  • WHO/IAEA Secondary Standard Dosimetry Laboratory

Research in Internal Dosimetry

we investigate

  • Biokinetics and internal dosimetry of radionuclides
  • Behaviour of uranium and thorium in human body
  • we assess exposures after the use of depleted uranium ammunitions

we perform

  • Mass spectrometric analysis of trace elements
  • Breath analysis using Proton Transfer Reaction Mass Spectrometry (PTR-MS)
