The logo that we have chosen aims to represent some aspects of the project.
The external ring corresponds to the ring of detectors of a PET scanner, the internal partial ring is the new PET probe that will be developed in the frame of the project and that will improve the spatial resolution and the details of the diagnostic image. The inscription MADEIRA starts in correspondence of the external ring with large letters and ends in correspondence of the PET probe with smaller letters, to "symbolize" the ability of the PET probe to image smaller details. The two "A" are superposed to the gray lines that symbolize the path of the emitted radiations from the source object to the detectors. The colours for the inscription were chosen to recall the colour scale used to display diagnostic images in nuclear medicine.
