Accommodation for the Third MADEIRA Training Course
ACCOMMODATION
Munich in October is always very busy, due to many trade exhibitions.
A number of rooms had been reserved for the course participants at Etap Hotel München Garching, (at an average price of 60 €/night, including breakfast, for single room or 39 €/night, including breakfast, per person in double room). Room availabilty was guaranteed only until September 10. The secretariat will try anyway to help participants who registered after September 10 to find a reasonable accommodation.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
TICKETS
Each participant staying at ETAP HOTEL München Garching will receive a 3-day ticket valid within Munich XXL region (covering Munich city and the city of Garching). A map of the Munich metro network can be found here.
The tickets will be distributed Tuesday 5 October at 8 o'clock in the morning in the lobby of the hotel (see below for further details) and are valid from Tuesday till Thursday.
TO/FROM ETAP HOTEL
ETAP Hotel is just in front of the Metro Station "Garching Hochbrück", which is on the line U6 of the Munich metro network (map). With the line U6 you can reach the city center (Marienplatz) in about 20 minutes, passing by the Allianz Arena (the home stadium of Bayern München).

TO THE CORSE VENUE
ETAP Hotel München Garching has a direct bus connection (bus 294) to the Helmholtz Zentrum München. On Tuesday 5 October we will meet in the hotel lobby at 8 o'clock and will go together to the course venue.
From the city (central train station, Hauptbahnhof), the campus of Helmholtz Zentrum München can be reached taking the metro line U2 (direction Feldmoching) till the stop Am Hart (duration of the trip:10 minutes), and from there the bus 294. Please note that there are also express runs of the bus 294 with only one stop between Am Hart and Helmholtz Zentrum.

SOCIAL PROGRAMME
A get-together is organised for the afternoon of Tuesday 5 October, so that you may get to know better your fellow participants and the lecturers. The get-together will be followed by a typical Bavarian entertainment (sorry, no Oktoberfest....).
