Head of the group
Ingo Drexler is Assistant Professor (Privatdozent) with habilitation in Virology. He is a member of the Faculty of Medicine at the Technische Universität München and lectures, gives courses and supervises students (MED, BIO, BIOCHEM, MolBio) at undergraduate and graduate levels in Molecular and Medical Virology. He is specialized in Microbiology, Virology and Epidemiology of Infectious Diseases and associated as resident and head of the Cell Culture Unit at the Diagnostic Laboratory of the Institute of Virology, Technische Universität München. His major research interests are the biology and immunology of poxviruses, particularily, their potential use as viral vector vaccines and the interaction with the host immune system.
