Our current research topics are to
- monitor hepatitis B virus (HBV) and hepatitis C virus (HCV)-specific T and B cell responses
- identify mechanisms responsible for T-cell failure in chronically HBV-infected patients and to develop therapeutic strategies to restore T cell function
- characterize of HIV-specific immune responses in different cohorts of HIV-1 infected subjects.
- characterize vaccine-induced T cell immune responses in HIV-1 infected individuals in a phase I clinical trial
- develop an MVA-based HIV-1 vaccine within the AVIP consortium (AIDS Vaccine Integrated Project, http://www.avip-eu.org/)
- monitor Epstein Barr Virus (EBV)-specific T and B cell responses in a cohort of competitive athletes
