- Meeting of EURADOS Working Group 11 on „High Energy Radiation Fields“
On October 7th and 8th 2010, a meeting of EURADOS Working Group 11 on „High Energy Radiation Fields“ was held in HMGU, Munich, Germany. This working group (chaired by W. Rühm (HMGU, Germany)) deals with problems related to calculation and measurement of doses at high energies. For example, this is important for the dosimetry of cabin crew and pilots, and the dosimetry outside the shielding of proton and ion therapy facilities. The working group includes several task groups such as those on “Comparison of Codes for Air Crew Dosimetry” chaired by J.F. Bottollier-Depois (IRSN, France), “Solar Particle Event Models and their Validation” chaired by P. Beck (AIT, Austria), “Continuous Measurements of Cosmic Radiation” chaired by F. Wissmann (PTB, Germany), “High Energy Reference Fields” chaired by Dr. Bartlett (UK), and “High Energy Codes and Models” chaired by W. Rühm (HMGU, Germany). Altogether, more than 20 scientists from 11 countries including Japan participated in the meeting.
