Interests
The focus is on high throughput genotyping by a number of methodologies:
* SNP Genotyping (Sequenom Mass Array)
* Fragment /Microsatellite Analysis and Whole Genome Scan (LIF-CE, ABI)
and is set to execute association studies (regional and candidate gene approaches) as well as give necessary advice with design and planning. Ongoing projects are aiming at elucidating the linkage disequilibrium (LD) block structures in several regions of the genome, finding regional association for a number of complex diseases and mutations in putative candidate genes as well as linkage analysis in monogenic disorders. The group is part of the German National Genome Research Network (NGFN) and acting as SNP genotyping project partner for the clinical research nets.
Expertise
DNA extraction from blood and tissues, DNA quantitation (UV and fluorescence) and quality control, high throughput SNP genotyping, mutation screening and analysis by CE-SSCP and dHPLC, DNA sequencing.
