Welcome!

Head: Prof. Dr. Jerzy Adamski

Deputy: Prof. Dr. Thomas Illig

The Genome Analysis Center (GAC) was established in 2000 to promote high throughput research in the Helmholtz Zentrum München. GAC is a department of the Institute of Experimental Genetics (IEG) .

GAC is a core facility with major focus to investigate complex processes in the development and progression of common complex diseases in man, and the challenge of environment to human health. The GAC is organized in platforms hosting several "omics" approaches including genotyping, DNA sequencing (both Sanger and Next Generation Sequencing), transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics. Technologies are universal for the studies in a wide range of species including human, animal models, plants and bacteria.

GAC performs analyses and supports cooperations in the indicated areas at costs specific to each activity. Project consulting is provided along the whole experimental pipeline. GAC is participating in several national (DFG, NGFN, BMBF) and international (European Commission, National Institute of Health) projects.

GAC is an administrative part of the Institute of Experimental Genetics link. Core Facility GAC is located in building 34 at the Neuherberg Campus of the Helmholtz Zentrum München.
