Metabolomics: Overview
Genome Analysis Center supports metabolomics through two activities:
- Metabolomic Facility (platform for service analyses)
Head: Dr. C. Prehn
- Scientific Initiative metaP (interdiscipinary research)
The aim is to mediate progress in science through development of new metabolomic methods and provision of measurement services applicable to man, animal models, plants, environmental samples and ex vivo systems.
The activities include both profiling (analyses of all measurable analytes to identify differences) and targeted analyses (quantification of a chosen set of analytes).
