Interests
Regulation of cell proliferation and differentiation by steroids and lipids, steroid metabolism, influence of environmental chemicals on reproduction biology and cancerogenesis (endocrine disruptors), targeting of proteins into the organelles, impact on DNA-polymorphisms on gene funtionality, analyses of global changes in metabolic pathways in health and diseases (metabolomics link). We are interested in the molecular basis of metabolic syndrome (diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disorders), breast, ovary, testes and prostate cancers.
Expertise
Site directed mutagenesis, preparation and screening of cDNA libraries, promotor analysis, radiation hybrid panel assay, protein expression in bacteria, yeast, insect and mammalian cells, tissue culture, purification of proteins, enzymatic analysis, metabolomics (LC-MS/MS, GC-MS), Western/Northern blotting, low density arrays, immunofluorescence, two hybrid system, pull down assay.
