In the GOODWATER ITN, 15 internationally recruited Early Stage Researchers (ESR)
and 1 Experienced Researcher (ER) will be trained in the 48 month project, which is roughly divided into three phases:
The fellows are recruited by the partners and their individual training needs are assessed. Career Development Plans are conceived.
All fellows are trained within their research work package by the involved partners, and they co-laborate closely with one or more fellows working in a directly complementing work package or area. Each fellow is supervised by the direct project leader, the supervising scientist.
In the last 6 month of the project, the partners complete all reporting for the European Commission. Also, the Coordinator finalizes all financial issues and other open matters.

Work package (WP): Each early stage and experienced fellow will fulfill one work package described by three to four tasks (specified below). Each task will require between 6 and 15 months

Training exchanges: For all projects, collaborative research training exchanges are planned between the partners of the network. Mutual laboratory exchanges between members of the network are planned for time spans between two and four months.

Milestones: Every twelve months the fellows will provide progress reports to their responsible supervisors (SV). The reports are provided to the EU commission to document the network’s progression.

Deliverables: The foremost deliverable from this network is a number of high-quality trained young professionals who are ideally trained to embark on a career in groundwater-related industry and academia. Every ESR fellow should obtain a PhD degree. This goes in parallel with building up a strong network between supervisors and fellows which will last even after the project is finished. Further deliverables include participation certificates of the training events, reports on the results of research training projects to a number of peer-reviewed publications and dissemination activities, as well as best practice implementation of the developed concepts, which will be made available for stakeholders via reports, the internet and on conferences. A webpage will enable the public to track success of the project on the internet.
