Genomes

Pedant

The pedant genome database provides exhaustive automatic analysis of genomic sequences by a large variety of bioinformatics tools. Prediction of cellular roles and functions are made based on high stringency BLAST searches against protein sequences with manually assigned functional categories according to the Functional Catalogue (FunCat) developed by MIPS and Biomax AG.

Plant Genomes

The MIPS plant genomics group focuses on the analysis of plant genomes, using bioinformatic techniques. To store and manage the data, we developed a database, PlantsDB, that aims to provide a data and information resource for individual plant species. In addition PlantsDB provides a platform for integrative and comparative plant genome research. Our focus is the analysis of different monocots (i.e. maize, rice, triticeae genomes like barley, wheat, rye) and dicots (i.e. Arabidopsis, Medicago truncatula, Lotus, tomato).
