Dr.
Peter Jacob
is the head of the
Research Group Risk Analysis. He
is working since 25 years in the fields of radiation risk and
radioecology. Main research activities include dose reconstruction and
risk analyses with models of carcinogenesis. Dr. Jacob is member of the
International Commission of Radiological Protection (ICRP), of the
German delegations for the United Nations Scientific Committee on the
Effects of Atomic Radiation (UNSCEAR), of the German Commission of
Radiological Protection (SSK) and chairs the committee for radiation
risks of the SSK. He was chairman of the ICRU Report Committee on
'Retrospective Assessments of Exposures to Ionising Radiation' (ICRU
Report 68). Dr. Jacob coordinated among others the EC funded projects
'Dose reconstruction' (FP4), 'Dose reconstruction for workers of Mayak
and for Tech riverside residents, DOSREC (FP5)', and the Inco-Copernicus
project 'Dose reconstruction for workers of Mayak and for Tech riverside
residents'.
