16. Advanced Training Seminar of the APT

The 16. Advanced Training Seminar for physicists, engineers, physicians, technologists and all persons interested in radiology will take place from June 15th to 16th, 2012, on the Neuherberg campus of the Helmholtz Zentrum München.

Main topics will be the personalized diagnostics, innovation management, as well as the screening and its effectiveness. In addition, questions regarding dose and radiation protection will be treated.

We, the Official Personal Dosimeter Service at the Helmholtz Zentrum München will take this opportunity to present our wide range of offers in the field of dosimetry as well as our online dosimetry service.

53rd Annual Conference of the German Society for Medical Radiation Protection (DGMS)

After a long time, the 53rd Annual Conference of the DGMS is held again at the Helmholtz Zentrum München, Neuherberg.

We, the Official Personal Dosimeter Service at the Helmholtz Zentrum München, take this opportunity to present our wide range of offers in the field of dosimetry as well as our online dosimetry services by displaying informative flyers.

TÜV Süd Radiation Protection Seminar

The radiation protection seminar organized by TÜV Süd took place from June 11 to June 12, 2012 in the TÜV SÜD Academy in Munich under the guidance and moderation of Dipl.-Phys. Joseph Schober.

The seminar focused on the presentation of new developments in radiation protection, on practical experiences and on the information exchange with colleagues. We, the Official Personal Dosimeter Service at the Helmholtz Zentrum München presented during this seminar our current offers of dosimeters and services, as well as many new information flyers. The principal product of interest was the OSL dosimetry, which will be introduced in 2012, as well as our online services DosiNet and DOSICON.

dtva Symposium on Radiation Protection

On March 16, 2012 the Official Personal Dosimeter Service, AWST (Auswertungsstelle) hosted a two-day Radiation Protection Symposium, which was organized by the German Association of Technical Assistants. Members of the AWST staff were pleased to provide information about their work to more than 90 participants. The two speakers, Mark Figel and Stephan Hübner illustrated in their presentations "The latest news from the dosimetry" and "Personal dosimetry in practice" various aspects of radiation protection from the perspective of the official monitoring service performed at the AWST.

The deputy head of the AWST monitoring service, Mark Figel informed the participants in the Symposium about the introduction of new dosimetry systems and of a new online portal. After outlining the current status regarding the use of electronic dosimeters in pulsed radiation fields, Mr. Figel described various results obtained within the Oramed project at the end of his presentation.

Stephan Hübner, Head of the Communication and Customer Service Department concentrated on the interaction between users and the AWST. He explained to the audience that both sides have an important responsibility in stimulating a positive mutual communication, which leads to an improved application of the personal dosimetry and thus to a better radiation protection.

After taking a final tour through the rooms of the AWST, in which its six different stations are located, the guests could gain insight into the work routine of the AWST.
