The Center focuses on the pathogenesis of common diseases as affected by genetics and environmental influences. We are particularly interested in Diabetes mellitus, chronic lung diseases and allergies. Education and Training
The education and training of our junior scientists is a matter particularly close to our heart. In 2010, the Center set up the first graduate school for environmental health (HELENA), which trains over 400 doctoral students at an interdisciplinary level. In doing so, we cooperate closely with Munich’s top-ranking universities.
In addition, we offer approximately 50 trainee positions for eight vocational training disciplines and two integrated degree programs.
