Neurogenetic Systems Analysis Unit

The Neurogenetic Systems Analysis Unit addresses the principles of neural biosystems, their genetic foundations, and their pathological alterations. The research focuses on the analysis of genomic and epigenomic data from in vitro and animal models, as well as from patient and population cohorts. The latter are linked to genetic epidemiology, the former to experimental research in the laboratory. Diseases under investigation include disorders of sleep, movement, and cognition. System modeling is based on enrichment tests which assign genetic and epigenetic information to specific molecular biological functions, anatomical structures, and developmental processes.
