The Institute of Radiobiology has close cooperations with several institutes of the Ludwig-Maximilian-Universität München (LMU) and its University Hospital, in particular with the Radiobiological Institute.

Furthermore, with the Hospital of the University Regensburg, the Institute of Molecular Biotechnology in Jena, the Charité of the Humbold University Berlin, the Federal Agency for Radiation Protection (BfS) and numerous other national and international universities, research centers and hospitals. It fulfils scientific advisory duties for federal and provincial ministries and administrative authorities for all problems concerning protection against hazards by ionizing and non-ionizing radiation (within the Commission for Radiation Protection (“Strahlenschutz-Kommission”, SSK)) and its committee „Radiation Risk“.

Teaching: Regular contributions to the curriculum of the Faculty of Biology of the LMU by means of lectures, seminars and laboratory courses and the education of diploma and PhD students have a long tradition in the institute.
