Research Interests

During my studies, I learned about the important role of air pollution as a major threat to health and climate, affecting both morbidity and mortality. In this context, interesting aspects include the negative health effects due to air pollution on structural changes in the human brain. In particular, long-term exposure to ambient air pollution at residence with spatial distribution patterns of white matter lesions. Currently I am working on the "RADIOMICS" project and am part of the "Combustion products and health"- study group, which analyzes the effects of ambient air pollution on mortality and hospital admissions in the cities of Dresden, Leipzig and Augsburg.
