Research stays

Exposure to a different laboratory culture is one career step that has become a requirement for an academic career. The Helmholtz Research School of Radiation Sciences fosters exchanges where a joint research activity or a new technology is available and recommends that graduate students participate in one exchange during their studies. Following individual review, the Research School will support graduate students with up to 3000 EUR for this purpose.

Research stays abroad during your doctoral studies should be planned as early as possible. To apply for funding, please contact the Research School Coordinator as soon as possible. Graduate students can apply for a research stay abroad only one time.

After the research stay, we ask the graduate student to provide a short report.

Please note: RS2 does not award travel grants in addition to HELENA, each student is eligible to receive in total 3000 EUR for research stays.
