Project description

Diabetes mellitus is characterized by chronic hyperglycemia and pancreatic β-cell dysfunction. We have identified two novel receptors in the insulin/insulin-like growth factor (Ins/IGF) pathway. I work on in vitro and in vivo characterization of the novel receptors and their role in β-cell function, especially in respect to endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress.
