Gene Manipulation by CRISPR/TALEN/rAAV/RNAi Molecular Tools

The generation of cells and animal models of human diseases by gene manipulation, provide valuable source to understand the mechanism of the diseases. Emerging and improvement of the genetic tools allow scientists to perform clinical gene manipulations in order to reverse the status of a genetic disorder. I am using CRISPR/Cas9, TALEN, rAAV and RNAi technologies for gene editing/therapy in mouse and human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSc), in order to understand the causal link of INK4 locus to diabetes; and also to develop therapeutic strategies to revers diabetes status.
