Ken-ichiro did his PhD in the lab of Fugaku Aoki at the University of Tokyo, where he studied transcriptional regulation in the mouse embryo, in particular, on the study of promiscuous activity by RNA Polymerase II. He then did a short postdoc to study the effect of a small molecule in attenuating hepatic fibrosis and liver injury. Ken-ichiro joined the lab in December 2016.

Research interest: Transcriptional regulation of totipotency.
