Elisabeth obtained her Bachelors degree in Biology from the University of Cologne. For her Master studies she moved to Utrecht, the Netherlands, to follow the Molecular and Cellular Life Sciences Master program. During this time, she performed internships in the groups of Prof. Boxem, studying establishment of epithelial polarity, and Prof. Wiertz, studying TAP inhibition by Cowpox virus. She stayed in the Wiertz group as lab technician, focusing on immune evasion strategies of EBV. In May 2018, Elisabeth joined the Hamperl group as lab manager.
