Helmholtz Stem Cell Center Launched

The Helmholtz Zentrum München opened its Stem Cell Center with a prominent scientific symposium on 14th-15th December 2017. The two-day symposium saw researchers of the Stem Cell Center and international speakers present alongside each other and gave a strong impression of the diversity of approaches and applications the stem cell center is set to achieve.

Together with Magdalena Götz (Director of the ISF) and Wolfgang Wurst (Director of the IDG), the IES headed by Maria Elena Torres-Padilla is one of the founding institutes of the Stem Cell Center. Set around two pillars of epigenetics research and disease states, the center unites top researchers in the field to establish a globally leading center in stem cell research and development at Helmholtz Zentrum München.
