20th German Aerosol Therapy Seminar (DATS) from 9-10 November in Munich, Germany

The German Aerosol Therapy Seminar (DATS) will take place for the 20th time this year from November 9 to 10, 2018 at the Leonardo Royal Hotel in Munich. ILBD/CPC scientist Dr. Otmar Schmid together with Dr. Sabine Häußermann, Philipp Kroneberg, Dominik Kappeler and Dr. Gerhard Scheuch took over the scientific leader of the seminar.

 The DATS offers representatives from clinical and preclinical fields, the pharmaceutical industry and general practitioners a podium to discuss current topics in the field of inhalation therapy. In addition to a proseminar on inhalation therapy, the seminar is dedicated to the current discussion on diesel emissions, results of current studies on inhalation therapy and the challenges of new therapy approaches in the field of eHealth. The speakers of the seminar come from the universities medical faculties, the private hospitals, the non-university research institutions, as well as the industry.

 Dr. Schmid is head of the working group "Pulmonary Aerosol Delivery" at the Institute of Lung Biology and CPC. The aim of his group is to translate new concepts in aerosol research, biotechnology and physics into technological advances in order to advance the development of novel inhaled drugs for the treatment of lung diseases.
