21st German Aerosol Therapy Seminar (DATS) from November 8-9 in Munich, Germany

The 21st German Aerosol Therapy Symposium (DATS) will take place from November 8 to 9, 2019 at the Sheraton München Arabellapark Hotel, in Munich. ILBD/CPC research group head Otmar Schmid took over the scientific lead of the symposium together with Sabine Häußermann and Philipp Kroneberg from VisionHealth and the physician Dominik Kappeler.

The DATS offers a platform to discuss current topics in the field of inhalation therapy with representatives from clinical and preclinical fields, the pharmaceutical industry and lung physiotherapists. In addition to an introductory course on inhalation therapy, the symposium is dedicated to current topics including the current and future role of artificial intelligence and eHealth as well as recent advancements in inhalation therapy related to restrictive lung diseases, neonatal lung disease and COPD. Furthermore, the German Respiratory Society (DGP; Section 10 - Pathophysiology and Aerosol Medicine) will hold its annual meeting and organize a session on Functional COPD Diagnostics as part of the DATS program.

Schmid’s working group"Pulmonary Aerosol Delivery" aims to translate new concepts in aerosol research, biotechnology and physics into technological advances fostering the development of novel inhaled drugs for the treatment of lung diseases.
