Welcome to Internet Representation of the Institute of ILBD/CPC
Chronic lung diseases are the research focus of the Institute of Lung Biology and Disease (ILBD) and the Comprehensive Pneumology Center (CPC). Targeting the role of originating factors and key pathways of disease development, all work is determined to contribute to strategies of disease prevention and the establishment of novel diagnostic and therapeutic approaches in the area of chronic lung disease. To this end, scientists strive to elucidate the underlying mechanisms of diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), lung fibrosis, lung cancer or asthma and complications following lung transplantation (bronchiolitis obliterans) and translate them into therapeutic approaches for patients.
