hiPS Cell Unit

Human Induced Pluripotent Stem (hiPS) Cell Unit

The Human Induced Pluripotent Stem (hiPS) Cell Unit is located at the Helmholtz Zentrum Munich, Neuherberg campus.

The primary goal of the unit is to serve the Helmholtz research community and assist collaborators to produce patient iPS cell lines. Our reprogramming techniques include virus-based vectors, integrating plasmids and modified mRNAs.

In addition, we maintain and bank established human ESC lines and iPSC lines, train scientists with basic techniques to maintain and differentiate human PSCs, and monitor genomic integrity of the cultured cells.

Space can be provided for researchers to reprogram their own patient samples, fostering collaborations between Helmholtz researchers and laboratories around Munich.
