Over the last decades we initiated a series of developments around new chromatographic/electrophoretic monolithic materials or developed new concepts in sample preparation with magnetic nanoparticle materials. Our latest development is capillary electrokinetic concentration (CEKC) that extracts selective compounds out of a complex mixture based on charge density principles; this semi-preparative approach can be coupled to (ultrahigh resolution) mass spectrometry. In UHPLC/HR-MS the developments integrate new dopants for sensitivity improvements in Metabolomics as well as modelizations of both the compound specific chromatographic separation (HILIC and RP) and the mass fragmentation patterns (MetFrag).
